The GSA Bioinformatics Internship is a collaborative initiative jointly organized by the Global Network of Bangladeshi Biotechnologists (GNOBB), ASI School of Life, and Society for the Popularization of Science, Bangladesh (SPSB). Together, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of bioinformatics researchers through accessible, high-quality, and impact-driven training.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between theoretical education and real-world research in life sciences by integrating bioinformatics, data science, and molecular biology. We bring together academic researchers, educators, and practitioners from leading institutions to design a learning environment that emphasizes hands-on experience, mentorship, and scientific integrity.
In addition to training undergraduate and graduate interns, we are committed to promoting early exposure to bioinformatics. As part of this effort, the internship team will organize a Bioinformatics Camp for School and College Students, designed to spark curiosity and build foundational awareness of computational biology among younger learners. Interns will have the opportunity to actively support this camp through mentoring, instruction, and event coordination.

Researchers from the Big Bioinformatics Lab, CHIRAL Bangladesh will serve as core trainers and research mentors throughout the internship, guiding participants through both foundational training and collaborative research projects. Together, we aim to advance life science education, promote scientific literacy, and build a thriving research ecosystem in Bangladesh and beyond.
BioHPC: GNOBB-ASI Bioinformatics Hub at SPSB
As part of the GSA Bioinformatics Internship, selected interns will gain access to the GNOBB-ASI Bioinformatics Hub at SPSB—a dedicated and fully equipped workspace designed to support advanced computational research in bioinformatics.
The hub features high-performance desktop workstations configured to handle intensive data processing tasks such as RNA-Seq analysis, multi-omics integration, and machine learning workflows. Interns will have the opportunity to conduct their projects in a professional research environment, with reliable computing power and essential software pre-installed for hands-on analysis.
This physical facility ensures that interns—regardless of their personal hardware limitations—can fully engage in meaningful research, data visualization, and collaboration with mentors and peers. It also provides a valuable space for networking, team-based learning, and focused project development.
Whether working independently or as part of a research team, interns can count on the GNOBB-ASI Bioinformatics Hub to support their computational needs throughout the internship.
